Belgian pieced fallcap

~34" long, 4" wide at ends, 9" wide in center.
Excellent condition. Darked beige color, can't tell if this is dye or natural. It arrived smelling strongly of cigar smoke, but that's gradually dissipating.

This isn't traditional bloemwerk, and is a little coarse for Old Flanders. The tag says Duchesse, but that probably is just a guess. It has radiating lines in the flowers and other curved elements, and the spiral motif is unusual, but might point to a Duchesse variation. The presence of a few 'islands' in the brides points to Bruges and away from Duchesse. For the moment I'll put it in the Bruges category.
